Yep!!! My sentiments exactly. His +/- would be off the charts with added assists to his stats and less TO on forced drives.
Femmeā¦I am going to say something that many on the board may be thinking but donāt want to post. Cam CHOSE to remain with the program, and I am glad that he has stayed and will earn his degree from a fine university.
Cam has had many solid games, but tonight isnāt one of them. We constantly hear itās the OFFICIALS, HERB, PLAYING OUT OF POSITION, etcā¦Itās ok and actually refreshing to hear āAll that matters is that we won tonightā. I understand that none of us have a son in the program, and that youāre personally invested. I get that 100%.
However, I would venture to guess that over 90% of us on this board is a SCU grad, so it stings when you make disparaging comments wishing Cam would have gone elsewhere. Heās your son and you want the best for him, but some objectivity is appreciated too!!
Are these Bradley announcers? I donāt mind them so much, but the enthusiasm seems notably on the Bravesā side.
Mahi finally looks for the pass when it was really needed. Heās so strong driving to the hoop and always attracts 2-3 defenders. Thereās a guy open almost every time. He just needs to find them if thereās no clear finish at the rim.
Itās official Bryan should start and Bal sitā¦.
Ugly.
My apologies if it puts down the school. Thats def not the intent. Santa Clara is a PHENOMENAL academic program. Not sure how that will transfer to the East Coast if he opts to go back East. We will start to focus on post basketball opportunities at this point.
Itās not Santa Clara I have beef. Itās Sendek and the negative impact he had on my sonās basketball career.
That being said. Tonight def was not his game. I 100% agree with that. In fact, this was probably one of his worst. My issue. He will never have āhis gameā while being forced to play out of position.
If we ever knew he wouldāve been asked to be the backup 5 - we never would have agreed to that.
He will walk away with a good education - and hopefully that will transfer to gainful employment and a network that appreciates his loyalty.
I know MANY here never saw this kid as an NBA prospect. And youād all be right. In THIS system. He is not. But none of you are familiar with his actual talents and history and accomplishments in the EYBL or Adidas circuits and as a HS player. He was on a fast trak and we thought going mid major would have allowed him to thrive.
Itās in Gods hands now and so a different road will be travelled. Itās just a tough pill to swallow when all the work. The years. The sacrifices that he and I as a single parent who has struggled to keep the lights on - witness the dream fade.
Had to get it off my chest. Happy for the program. Tonight was a MUST WIN and we did that. I am just pretty devastated for my family. Thatās all.
No apology needed! I have no doubt that you raised a fine young man.
Thanks! Heās a great kid and I couldnāt be more proud.
He still has a bright future playing professionally at some level and that is if that is what he really wants. He obviously is a fine young man and now that we have coach in the discussion that is exactly what he and his staff develop, at least in my humble opinion. Cam is one that is benefitting from that. As far as playing out of position that is a sacrifice but also a compliment to Cam that coach sees that he can handle it. He may be playing against larger men but he plays bigger than he is and there is a difference. He knows where to be at all times. That is a compliment. Many moons ago , that being the late 60ās, SCU played often with a 6-3 center who could get position (Cam Can) rebound(like Cam), pass (like Cam) and knew where to be at all times (also like Cam).
I have been wanting to get this into the discussion for a long time. We are all proud of Camās tough play. He is a winner and will be no matter what he chooses and that is meant as a compliment to both he and you!.
Appreciate the insight. He would LOVE to play even overseas. He just loves the sport that much. MAYBE something will brew there.
No doubt in this manās mind
3rd win in a row with some easy ones coming up, Kennesaw St. Wednesday, S. Dakota next Saturday, then Pepperdine to start WCC play on Dec. 28th. All at home. An opportunity for a confidence building win streak before facing USF Dec. 30th at War Memorial.
Dont know if anyone saw Unofficial WCC meter. But today was a āDESPERATE FOR A WINā for Santa Clara. So I am happy about the 3 game streak.
Omg i was raised in the city. Born in 1960. Never saw the airplane live, but saw hot tuna at a free concert in the avenues
good win, can finally say the curse of this arena has been lifted
wire to wire work and it was welcoming to see the balance. Really want to see Adama learn to be involved when not scoring
