Jalen wins it all with the Thunder as the bona fide second option in just his 3rd year. Amazing, honestly, and perhaps worthy of finally replacing that enormous Nash banner in Leavey with a more modestly sized celebration of Jalen’s (and potentially Podz’s) accolades. ---

Hopefully Lloyd will be able to capitalize on Indiana’s surprising run to the NBA finals, just one game away from winning it all. He deserves another shot at a head coaching job. Who knows, if Haliburton hadn’t torn his achilles (on national TV, no less, that pop was clear for all to see), the Pacers might’ve actually won the series. ---

Congrats to Jalen. We all saw how good he was and knew he was destined for the NBA, but this is awesome! Icing on the cake that Mr. Duffy is taking care of these matters. FYI, I think the pre-tax contract value is more than the entire SMC endowment… ---

If JW plays his cards right and has an extensive career, he could generate a BILLION dollars of lifetime gross income, especially if the endorsement deals start flooding in. I’m so happy for him. ---

Speaking on NIL, there was an article about Texas Tech who will spend a total of $55 Mil this season for Football and Basketball. Their two returning MBB stars will get about $ 3-4 million each. ---

I saw the reporting on Texas Tech. The new NIL Clearinghouse is already rejecting post-settlement NIL deals. They’ll get sued, and it may not hold legal antitrust scrutiny, but they’re trying something at least. Still almost certainly going to need Congress to intervene. Fortunately, Congress seems very attentive to the important issues of the day and highly productive… ---
