I’m sorry if I missed this posted elsewhere, but Santa Clara now has a new Bucky the Bronco costume. And he comes with a hype video… The transfer portal time is miserable. Wow… I liked the last iteration of Bucky, but I’m open to change. He looks a lot better on video than in the photos. Go Broncos, Go Bucky! ---

I think the new Bucky’s perpetually bewildered look is hilarious. There’s gonna be a great shot of Bucky under the basket on a runaway dunk someday with his frozen “oh wow!” look, and it’ll be perfect. I’m ultimately agnostic about losing Bicep Bucky for Bewildered Bucky. I think both are fine vintages that will terrify three year-old Broncos for years to come. ---

The 3 year old fans may be terrified but many adult fans will be swooning over the hypnotic gaze from New Bucky’s Bombay Sapphire blue eyes. But I’ll always prefer Bukky Bronco. ---

I prefer a mascot that looks like it will beat the crap out of all other mascots. I just find it odd that we reveal a new mascot at the END of the season? Also, why bother having a mascot when we don’t use the Bronco anywhere else? Shouldn’t the mascot be a one-dimensional SC? Like a Flat Stanley? ---

I believe they were trying to time it with the NCAA tournament game to give it some national buzz, which would have had a longer runway if a certain last second shot didn’t bank in… ---

I think I prefer the old Bucky, who was utterly terrifying. Though I say that as someone who put on that crazed horse head for a number of occasions, so maybe I’m a bit biased. I’ll never forget that one hot summer day at the Gilroy Garlic Festival. The garlic scent really lingers when there’s a lack of ventilation. I also had a small skirmish with the Don that day, but fear not Bronco fans, Bucky prevailed.
