Gonzaga, VCU, and Virginia alum. Original choice was between Santa Clara and Gonzaga. My mother’s family had settled in the Santa Clara area in the 1770’s, but in 1967, SCU had no National Merit Scholarship available and G.U. did, and I had two younger brothers, so it was off to Spokane. Graduate of Jesuit High School in Sacramento.
