I’m flying to Vegas tomorrow morning. Not sure what, if anything, I’ll manage by way of a preview. But everyone can start posting thoughts here about, yet again, the most important SCU basketball game in 20+ years.
The spread is -11.5. If you told any Bronco fan back in November that we’d be one double-digit favorite away from basically locking up our first bid since '96, we would’ve been called crazy.
Lunardi still has us in the ‘Last Four In’ as of this morning. Beating Pacific gets us to 25 wins and protects the #41 NET. Forget the ‘what-ifs’ and the ‘have-to-win-twos’—we win tonight, we breathe. Let’s get this monkey off our back!
Need to bring the energy tonight. Cannot assume Pacific will be overly exhausted despite last night nor can we preemptively plan to reserve energy for a Saint Mary’s matchup. Yes, I want to beat SM as much as the next person but we need to get there first. Dayton is better than NIT.
To me, we just need to play even the first 10 minutes or so. It feels like teams have struggled to shoot early in their first game for whatever reason this year. I do think it’s an advantage to have played in that capacity. I don’t think we’ve had a shootaround at Orleans based on the schedule.
If anyone with more familiarity with the Orleans wants to give insight as to where the SCU events/haunts might be, feel free. A couple of folks have messaged interested in finding the other SCU people here in Vegas. And of course, I’d love some Bronco company myself. ![]()

Some of us will be at the alumni event at 6. They did a good job at USF in the past I’m sure it will be a great event.
Sash is on the floor for warmup. Knee looks ok.
A few jitters to start but the rim seems to be friendly
Except on that dunk…
We have to clean up the defensive glass.
I’m nervous for the second half.
Very nervous… it doesn’t help that the announcers keep repeating that if we win then we’re in the tourney
Turn off the volume. It helps me.
I normally love Farnham and Flemming.
But it’s a lot tonight lol.
Are we even trying to play defense?
In the words of Sir Alex Ferguson, we’ve officially entered “squeaky bum time”
If we stop shooting lights out, we could be in trouble.
4 huge 3’s…. thank God
Can we get Ralph to transfer in next year?
The offense looks crisp. Pacific is a good defensive team.
Don’t want to make excuses but these referees are not good. Hope this is their only game in this tournament.
