St. Louis Roll Call and info

It strikes me as a bit funny that they will take a bus to travel 2 blocks

Not sure if someone already answered you but the media hotel is the Hilton 5 blocks from the stadium.

Aahhhh thanks for that explanation

Hi - New poster here. Loving that the Broncos are playing in St Louis! I was hoping for St. Louis or OKC but preferring St Louis. Class of ā€˜81 here. I’ll be driving in from Kansas City Thursday morning and would love to hook up with other Bronco fans and Alumni.

I know that there will be some scheduled events but thought it would be fun if Santa Clara fans declared a home bar where we could drop in at anytime and hook up with other fans.

Welcome @KCBronco ! Class of 1981, eh? Back when Santa Clara University (SCU) was still named University of Santa Clara (USC)!

So you remember the Korky Nelson Club? Eddie Jo? Lizard Man in the stands? And of course these guys:

I graduated from SCU about a decade later, but went to lots of games as a child. Loved those teams.

Where are everyone’s tickets? I’m probably gonna have to buy secondary market tickets and want to try to pick a section closer to our allotment.

@kevind716 - The seats that my brother got from the athletic dept don’t have an aisle/row/seat number. It’s just supposed to be in the SCU section (not the student section), good seats down low. I guess I’ll find out when I get there.

My tickets from SCU tickets office are ā€œunseatedā€ at the moment. In other words, I have a ticket, but seat location TBD.

I was told these are placeholders and we will get our actual tickets later this week.

That was my Sophomore year. I went to pretty much every home game and road games at USF and St Mary’s. We all thought Rambis, Theus and McNamara would take us somewhere but it was still fun to watch. It was too bad Mark transferred to Cal. I remember Eddie Joe Chavez my Frosh year. He was such a joy to watch. I was also at that infamous USF game in ā€˜77 as a HS Senior. I was sitting right on the baseline where rambis missed a FT before the USF player went down the other way and hit that floater.

all good memories but now I’m looking forward to a new set of memories

The USF player was Chubby F’n Cox. I can’t forget that or the Rambis miss. Welcome, and Go Broncos!

Ok - there will be a 9am meetup Friday for a team send off. See below:

ā€œEmail communications will be sent out shortly, but the alumni gathering will be at 9am at Union Station Curio Collection by Hilton! You’ll be able to send the team off to the stadium, enjoy some breakfast and camaraderie, then head to the big game with all the other ticket holders.ā€

Only if you’re staying on the west coast

EXCELLENT! Look forward to it!

If I organize a March Madness Bronco meetup at a local spot in downtown St. Louis, would you attend (assuming it doesn’t conflict with anything the official Alumni Association puts together)?

If in, please indicate available / preferred times:

Update – The Saturday ā€œMarch Madness Meetupā€ is on.

I’ll close voting and land on a location by Thursday 8pm CDT. Please vote if you’d like to join up!

Hope you can make it @RockMcD @kevind716 @TD_24 @filipinobronco @getnashty @92bronc @buckets @Broncomusings @KCBronco @Midwestbronco14 and others!!

I’m leaning toward Maggie O’Brien’s (since it’s already being used as a meetup location), but also researching/contacted other locations nearby (Ballpark Village and The Pitch to name a few) to see if they may also be viable.

Sadly, no… I will be watching either at Kezar Pub or the O. Club here in the City. Two other watch parties popped up on the Alumni Association website, but neither seems that compelling. One in the Tender-nob and another out on deeper Market street near Church. Unclear why we would divide an conquer.

Any other SF Broncos, let me know where you plan to be. I could imagine the biggest crowd actually being at Final Final or Monaghans - Marina is the heart of young alumni.

Big week of career stuff (including an important licensing exam tomorrow) and a couple of meetings for some non-profits I work with made it too tight - stuff I just couldn’t move. Had the game been later on Friday… perhaps.

Good news though - if I went in person, I’m sure they’d lose (superstition). If someone schedules a call right during it, I’m sure it’ll be the best Broncos game ever.

Unfortunately I will be at a wedding I was unsuccessfully able to get out of.

Bring home two wins and I’ll see you all in Chicago!

I can’t really make plans for Saturday until after we win. Thursday afternoon/evening I’ll likely belly up to the Union Station Hotel bar as I wait for the rest of my party to arrive. A Bronco get-together for Friday night might be fun, win or lose.
