WCC Game 16: vs. USF

Wholeheartedly agree…except we did the exact opposite, looked like a JV HighSchool team trying to break a press vs. Varsity.

If other teams were paying attention and even remotely have the right pieces to run an above average press then they’d be wise to do so vs. the Broncos until we prove we can handle it w/o turning it over every other possession.

Fortunately for our Broncos, pressing is sort of out of vogue in college hoops.
When you do see it, it is mostly for a limited # of possessions and more often aiming to just slow down the O, force them to burn shot clock and limit the amount of time they have to run half court O.

On the other hand, if we play St Mary’s, I hope we press the whole game. We may not get many turnovers, but they’re not deep and the press will simply require them to expend more energy. Easiest for the Broncos to slide that 1-3-1 defense up to 3/4 court.

Wouldn’t mind that.
But probably a pipe dream…unlikely Sendek would do it, not his MO.

Spot on. Mix in pressure on the inbound to try to force passes away from the middle and then try to trap in the corners
