2026 Pro Prospects

It feels a bit ironic to start a separate thread on this now with Allen having just suffered an injury with no word on his availability. But it does seem like we need a separate thread for SCU guys who may have a shot at the pros this cycle – Graves and Mahi.

Here’s a looooong podcast interview with Allen by some guys who do NBA Draft analysis. It’s sort of a garage band podcast but a fun conversation, nevertheless.

Note that it was seemingly recorded before the second Gonzaga tilt as the Seattle game gets mentioned but not Gonzaga in Leavey, nor the injury against USF.

Some highlights:

  • Allen says he is committed to declaring for the 2026 NBA Draft. He wants to go now. All in all, that’s probably a good thing for SCU whether it’s the right move for Allen.
  • He says that the team chemistry is great and that it’s key to this SCU team’s success.
  • He was mostly deciding between SCU and Xavier–must have felt good to wallop the Musketeers–but knew he wanted to come to SCU after the in-person visit.
  • Allen says that Brad Longcor is the next Bronco to blow up next season and mentions his ball handling expertise in practice.
  • He mentions Ensminger as the guy that “everyone wants to play with” because he makes everyone else look good. We’ve known that for a while, but it’s nice to hear it echoed back by the players and occasionally by the pundits.

I don’t see Longcor listed as a Redshirt for this season. Has he played at all this year? Can the Redshirt designation still be applied retroactively like we’ve seen in the past?

SIDE NOTE: While on the SCU basketball roster page, I read through Juan Reyna’s bio. SCU is his 5th school! He started in 2021-22 at Alabama State; then transferred to Campbell; then to UTSA (though he didn’t play); and finished up his undergraduate studies at Jackson State. Quite the journeyman!

Longcor has not dressed out in any game this year and is redshirting.
