Saw earlier that Thomas Haugh, a projected lottery pick, will be returning to Florida for his senior season. The Gators’ NIL fund must be ridiculous to entice an NBA lottery pick to return
Ultimately good for Graves not becoming a Tiger/Blue Devil if there’s a clearer runway to a 1st round NBA pick. I’ll be pretty annoyed if he gets to the League and has Duke as his college.
I think Landen Joseph might be the low-major guard potentially coming to SCU. He’s somewhat in the mold of Hammond, with good scoring and defensive instincts. If true, he would be a 1/2 similar to Sash and Brad Longcor while Cochran is big enough to probably play more at the 3.
24/7 shows Joseph committing to Dayton today, so I guess he’s not coming our way.
Great pickup for SCU, still raw but with a very high ceiling! Southpaw too?
Here is an article from the local Tucson paper about Sidi. Interesting that he arrived at AZ late due to visa issues and missed almost all of their off-season training. I don’t mean to read too much into that but hopefully he will benefit from being in the SCU program for the entire off-season.
You’re good. This is the player the Broncos were pursuing. Curious as to him picking Dayton over SCU. Would think SCU both the program and school had more to offer
Hopefully practicing against all the studs at Arizona helped his development
I was thinking/hoping the player would be Austin Nunez the left out of UTSA. More scoring engine than true point guard but two way skills and super quick. Fingers crossed! On second thought he may only have 1 year of eligibility
Lucas, without naming names, are you aware of any other players SCU is pursuing? Appreciate your insights and info.
I was viewing the Top 247 on 247 especially those with a west coast connection that may be in play. Lucas seems to have a handle on whom SCU is targeting. That being said, here are two that have yet to commit, but probably seeking a major conference. I didn’t list any WCC transfers.
#89…Hamad Mousa (SO-PF) 6-8
Cal Poly SLO…21.1 PPG, 6.7 RBG
#202…Gavin Sykes (FR - CG) 6-4
Long Beach St…HS Modesto Christian
19.4 PPG (ranked 6th amongst freshmen)
This seems like a story more fitting of The Onion or Babylon Bee.
But it is true:
As expected, Murauskas heading to ASU:
For some, college basketball is now a gig. It’s a great way to experience different parts of the country, though.
No better part of the country than the Mission Campus! Advantage SCU
Hearing we are now targeting another P4 guard who was a former 5 star HS recruit.
This was a great block by Sidi in their game against Houston. ESPN will probably make you watch a commercial before viewing it. Consensus is he plays with a good motor so that is encouraging.
That was serious elevation…
Arizona fans comments I read at Draft Express weee consistently positive, commending his motor, athleticism and attitude. One comment did emphasize his need to hit the iron ( or machines now). Encouraging, for sure.
Those were the only names that I heard about. I know they wanted to get a big and a guard from the portal so one down, one to go
