For the fanbase and probably for third-party watchers, we did not do well on the eyeball test last night.
Oregon State is playing their best basketball - we need to get by them, win a WCC Tourney game and get to 25-7 and see if we can’t get another crack at the Gaels in Las Vegas.
I hope the team takes this personally and does what they did after LUC - beat the brakes off of Oregon State.
Throwing our resume on the table at 25-8, 1-4 against SMC/GU would be super on-the-cusp… but its way more than I expected on Day 1 this year.

Then that’s my main scare. You are probably right a win over Saint Mary’s in the semifinals might be enough for the Gaels to get in, but a championship loss may not be enough for us. I guess I am priming myself to not be heartbroken on Selection Sunday…will be a nailbiter and I think very difficult for the WCC to get 3 bids. So many big conference teams looming on the bubble…Ohio State, USC, Cal, Virginia Tech, Seton Hall, West Virginia. While Santa Clara might deserve there always seems to be a great mid major team left out.

The NCAA likes to make its TV sponsors happy so we might get squeezed out in favor of bigger market programs - USC, Ohio State, Cal. Or they go with the Mid-major “Cinderella” 30 year draught Santa Clara Broncos story… Hoping for the second option.
