We held them to 9 points in the first 8.5 minutes. Then the Zags went on a tear lighting us up for 35 in the last 11.5 minutes.

Does Bukky not know that Ike is left handed??? Did the scouting report not emphasize forcing him to his right???
On at least 2 occasions so far Ike faced up, once from the FT line, once from beyond the 3 and Bukky overplayed his right and Ike drove left and finished at the rim. That’s stuff you learn in 4th grade…..or you should. Especially against a center, he’s not an ambidextrous Steve Nash equally adept at driving left or right.
Ike is too damned good to make it easy on him.

(1) Catch. (2) Shoot.
Rinse and repeat.

No high-risk pass into traffic.

PLEASE employ a zone if we see the Zags in the conference tournament. They are NOT a great three point shooting team and reluctant to fire from deep, but why they should they?? They are getting so many buckets inside……. Ridiculous!

We don’t have anyone who is a true lockdown 1:1 defender and it shows.
The improved D and generation of TO’s is mostly pressuring and gambling and more aggressive play and mindset; it’s not a result of guys locking down and dominating 1:1.
Ike has 4. We need to find a way to take advantage of this.
Zags have left the door open, currently under 50% from the FT line, 8/17.
We haven’t been good enough elsewhere….losing the rebounding TO’s battle.
F*ck. Atmosphere around campus was fun. Just wish we would have capitalized. Beat USF and win in Moraga.

Missed opportunity. Lousy defense and rebounding. But no shame in losing to #12 team.
Assuming we win all 3 games vs the also-rans, it comes down to our two games vs SMC. Win both and we are in. Split them and we sweat out selection Sunday.

The game plan was solid as was the effort. At the end of the day, Gonzaga made fewer mistakes and had Graham Ike.
