'25-'26 WCC Game 2: @ Portland

Were either of the other two against St. Louis? That would be the icing on the 1-point loss cake.

Not gonna win any game allowing a team to shoot 61%, turning the ball over and another dumb technical foul

Foxwell (PG) is impressive and their bench has been terrific. Herb needs to make some 2nd half adjustments or we’re heading home 1-1. Agree with comment about Hammond. He needs to find his rhythm in the 2nd half.

They were home games

If every team would play a zone against us- we would lose 20 games a year

Their freshman point guard can play all 20 minutes of the first half, get 9 assists, make 3 three pointers and have only turnover…yet we take our starting 5 out when up 11-0. These “fresh legs” and the staff need to figure it out in the second half.

BroncoBob, you’re asking a lot…

Once again, HS with a superior team getting outcoached. Embarrassing.

And yet Sendek never sees any value in playing zone against anyone ever.

You’d think someone on the staff would have the thought: ‘When teams switch to a zone it disrupts our offensive rhythm, slows us down on offense and eliminates pic/roll opportunities……gee, maybe we should try the same against other teams’.

On the bright side, Mahi continues to show how impressive of a player he is.

So excepting out our 11-0 run, we were outscored 44-29 in the first half? Nice.

HS should’ve been a British army general circa 1777. He could’ve marched his orderly army into wide open fields while the colonials picked off his soldiers from camouflaged protected positions. And still would not have made any adjustments, because there’s only one honorable way to conduct a battle, despite what the enemy does.

Bukky has one blocked shot the entire month of December. He had 3 against Xavier and 7 against Nevada. Not sure why. Very odd.

If Mark Few had an 11-0 lead out of the gate, he would’ve doubled-down and gone for the early kill, using whatever means necessary.

I will challenge anyone who says this was a solid win. Portland shot 60% from the floor. Other than a few short stretches, the defense was not good. This was a lucky win.

Thankfully, Mahi and Knapper crushed it.

As much as I wanted to teach my neighbors some new swear words….

Glad we pulled that out, but Lord, we’ve got a Jeykll and Hyde team.

It was all part of the master plan to wear them down. So happy that Knapper got his 3s to fall. His track record throughout his career shows he is capable from the outside. Mahi is extremely talented. If he makes a commitment to achieving an elite level of fitness then I think he can play in the NBA. I believe he has around a 7 foot wingspan.

Another great escape - one coach made adjustments - we’ll see lots more 1-3- 1 zones….

Give our boys credit in the 2nd half. I have personally been hard on BK, and tonight was his best game of the year. We don’t win without him. Mahi, Graves, Darlan, and nice 2nd half from Hammond. Nice job and 2-0 road trip.

Go Broncos!!!

Agreed. I think the team only had 4 turnovers in the second half.
