This game is just being played so sloppily. No real direction. At least 6 layups that should have been made. Zero adjustments.

Once again playing down to the competition. This shows while we can beat anybody we can also lose to anybody. Better get going soon or the season is over. No NIT with a loss to Pepperdine and we don’t deserve an invite. I’m disgusted. Kept them i8n the game in the first half and now it’s coming home to roost. Hope I’m wrong but looks like another terrible exit in the tournament.

Why does Tilly throw up weak layups instead of jamming the ball? He is the smallest seven-footer I’ve ever seen. Plays like he’s 6’6".

Not even close to a tourney invite in the Sendak years. Other coaches get canned that made final four last year like nc state. We need to make changes. The fact we can’t win one game in the WCC tourney is brutal.

Agreed…You’ve got to get at least one tournament appearance in 10 years, and it hasn’t happened. Seen enough. Yes, we missed alot of layups, and that’s on the players but as 92 pointed out, Schilling ran the flex O and we looked lost defensively. Credit his coaching and changes during the game!
I don’t know if we will make the NIT, but this loss is Sendek’s most deflating.

Horrible way to end his Santa Clara career. Makes through four years without injury. Cracks his elbow last game. . Shooting elbow no less!!! Messed up elbow and all - I still think he was giving us his all.

All the talent on this team, but no one to lead during crunch time.
They played 10 minutes of good basketball and 30 minutes of absolutely awful basketball on both ends of the floor.
Yet another disappointing WCC tournament performance.
While things have improved mightily since the KK era, Herb’s teams haven’t played well in March; I don’t think they’ve ever won more than one game in the WCC tournament, and both NIT bids were one and done.
And while I don’t think the season is over— I think there’s a very strong case for the NIT— it’s hard to be optimistic about this team after watching tonight’s meltdown.

This is what I’ve been saying all year: there is no floor general on this team. It’s just a bunch of guys playing together. Pepp has a clear leader in Odum.
How the heck did Odum get looked over by so many other teams? Pepperdine was the best he could do??
BTW: Odum is from the Bronx. Maybe some of that big city attitude from the Empire State is what our team needs.
