Game 1 - vs. Saint Louis

Cam playing with controlled force. Tres impressive.

Tongue is the best player on the floor. 0 bench points for SLU. Depth is very much SCUā€™s strength but need to actually wear out SLUā€™s starters and clean up defense.

With the length and depth of this SCU team, an oversized, extended zone would fit like a glove. Why does Herb always play minimal help man???

I didnā€™t realize the video cameras in South Dakota have the resolution of a 1967 vacuum tube TV.

The video quality would be better if someone would live stream on an iPhone.

That should be an Apple commercial.

Seriously, how is there motion blur??

We have FOUR KEY PLAYERS who have been quiet first half. If they wake up for the 2nd half - we should see a Bronco win!

Cam should only have 2 fouls. I am calling BS on that charge foul. That being said, I think he has pulled TWO on Avila - so that helps.

Production aside (and it is bad), this was a great idea and credit to the Athletic Department for stepping up. The game is good, the opponent is good. There are only so many people watching college basketball at 3 pm/noon Pacific but this game is the main event for those who are. And that number is roughly 14k right now, certainly beating any ESPN+ game this year.

Agree with you on the chargeā€¦ what we need is more guys to get aggressive like Cam. If Herb would teach these kids to go after it and body up it would serve SCU well. Such a deep team, just force the issue on both sides of the ball. If they do SCU wins easy in this one. SLU way outmatched here.

Stewart seems to be pressing a bit ā€” a bit too much time with the dribble. He looks pretty lively and athletic tho,ā€™ā€¦

Getting tired of resorting to a missed 3 pointer. ESPECIALLY on a fast break. Go inside.
And Tilly HITS ONE as I type this! lol

Agreed! That is the third time we had numbers on a break and we either settled or didnā€™t pass (and got called for a charging foul)

Apparently both teams are firmly committed to scoring 100+ this game. Iā€™ll take that. If anything, it favors Santa Clara with a deep bench and lots of weapons.

Yeah, the dribble, dribble, dribble, try to create space and fire a 3 is not what good teams do.

Held SLUs run to 6-0 or 8-2. That was big

Agree with femme on slowing down and going inside a bit more

I think Iā€™d go straight at Avila. Heā€™s already got 3 fouls, letā€™s get him out of the game.

Avila is a fun and creative offensive player, but he seems to give up a point for everyone he scores.

BRYAN (x2), huge threes

Yep - I will TAKE THE THREE on the KICK OUT any day. But I do not like when we go for the 3 as soon as we penetrate half court. Collapse the defense, put it up. Just like we did the last two rotations.

BUT - we need to attack Avila over and over on the inside.

Iā€™m a noted Ensminger fan, but he needs to be forced to drill threes at practice. These arenā€™t even close.

Itā€™s even worse when heā€™s the middle guy against the zone and wonā€™t even pop a shot from the key
