If you missed the Stewart dunk…
Whenever Tongue is in the game, please put him on Armus and just foul the guy. He is going to make 1 out of every 3 free throws.
Tongue has lots to learn, but fight and full effort are already there. I like him.
Game is starting to speed up, which long run helps us I would think. Both teams are drilling 3s (tongue looks pretty smooth, second one he had an open g will if he made the extra pass though)
Yep…kind of reminds me of a young Nate Kratch but Tongue is further along as a true freshman than Kratch was.
Make their big guy RUN… he’s slow and winded. Foot on the gas!
Not to belabor the point, but their big guy (Armus) had missed 11 free throws in a row coming into the game tonight…yet somehow we are not fouling him and letting him go 8-11 from the floor. Do we not have an analytics person on staff? This is driving me nuts.
I’ll agree with you on that.
Just cannot buy a layup
SCU is a good team. Sendek forcing his way just gets in the way of success.
Armus is now 1 for his last 14 free throw attempts. Foul him early. Let him do his Chuck Knoblauch thing at the line. Force Rice to put him on the bench…yet we play him straight up and make him look like Bill Walton.
Man, that second half was super frustrating on D. We just got bullied on the boards.
This team is way better offensively when shooting early in the clock. Like BB said, let it fly. We usually turn it over when waiting too long or get forced to take a bad shot.
Yes, that was ridiculious. Herb approaches every opponent like scouting is worthless and he’s going to play his way no matter what his opponent can or can’t do.
Guys played hard in the second half after the first horrible 10 min of the game.
Neither KK or herb’s teams can come from behind. Don’t take early shots when your down by 10 with three minutes left. Wtf !
Boise was terrible from the outside but I guess the NCAA does allow teams to play zone. Every team with a big man is going to kill us inside.
Jaylen needs to score 20 points for SCU to win
What happened to Miguel Tomley ?
Zero.
I was thinking about it last night, and zero times have I watched a SCU game during the Sendek era and gone away with the thought that SCU really bullied their opponent. He has them playing D like it’s a non-contact sport and if the opponent gets aggressive or physical in any way Herb just has the kids continue playing with their hands by their sides.
Much of good D is about pushing, shoving, grabbing, bumping, fouling. Herb approaches the game like the refs are robots and any sort of contact will be called a foul. Well, reality is much less rigid.
I wonder if back in the day Herb just showed up to school and handed his lunch money over to the bully first thing, then went about his day.
