Orleans arena has ton of staff here today for 49 fans . Wonder how much scu paid to get game here ?
And have only gone to the FT line once (Bryanâs And-1).
Getting to the FT line has been a weakness of ours all season (ranked ~300 in the country), guys need to be more physical and draw contact when theyâre in the paint.
Bal w/ 4 fouls and now out of the game with 12+ mins leftâŚcould be a problem.
All I am hearing is FOUL after FOUL. Sounds like these refs are NOT letting the guys play.
Good win! Canât say I saw the game but getting 12 points from Knapper, 8 from Ensminger, and 8 from Caffaro was huge. Only 1 turnover from Bal and we finally did not lose the turnover battle.
Great poise from the Broncos as this could have easily slipped away. A win over a top 70 net ranking team helps as well.
Weâll take the win. Kudos for closing out a close game.
12-14 FT shooting down the stretch over last ~4mins. A foul fest in the 2nd half with 35 total fouls between the two teams.
Fortunate that the Dukes shooting went cold late 2nd half and that shot FTâs poorly for the game, 19/31, 61%.
Saw we had a ton of yâall listening in, appreciate every one of you who did! Resillient and much needed win for Santa Clara. Glad we could be of service after the FloHoops disaster
Same problem last year. And this is where the WCC tourney is gonna be? They need to resolve these issues.
different operations and directors. Here there was one guy running the ship, as opposed to the WCC tournament where there are any number of things that need to be checked and accepted
Broncos defense tightened too. Grant only had 2 points in the last 10 minutes. We still lose too many 50/50âballs
Good win and glad that the Broncos continue to show some signs of life.
Looking at the box score (since seemingly no one saw this game except the coaches and players), Iâm glad to see that Knapper played well. He had high usage which seems to indicate that they are, in fact, working to get him experience as a real PG. It looks like CMJ still tried to force a few possessions, but set the ball on fire with his shooting. Bal played within himself and got a good stat line with only a single turnover. Glad to see McEldon get back in even if for a quiet effort. Ensminger seems to be finding his rhythm better which, I think, is partly due to the staff no longer forcing him to play the 4.
They still had 13 TOs. Not horrible, but not great. And 7 of them were steals by the other team, so the TOs came from carelessness with the ball in a way most likely to lead to fast break points for the other side. 10 offensive boards given up and -1 on rebounds overall. Grant went off, but the Broncos contained him down the stretch.
Itâs nice to see some improvement in the clear problem areas but lots of improvement still. The experimentation with lineups and personnel seems to be working, and Iâll be excited to see Tillyâs return.
The WCC tourney is broadcast by ESPN (all but the first round, I believe) and the premiere event for the conference. They wonât have these sorts of issues and would keep the games from being played until any tech issues are resolved if they do come up.
