Credit Broncos defense…active hands, active feet, providing help, winning 50/50 balls and solid rebounding too!!
Darkly hilarious that Sendek constantly stumbles to SJSU but can’t help but wreck TCU in tournaments.
Schedule TCU 3x a year.
Good win but statically not a very good offensive game. Shooting by both teams not great but TCU was horrible - 6% from 3…
Femme…I thought Cam was solid today off the bench. He works hard out there and was a big reason the team won today. Outside of Mahi and Stewart, I agree with comment made if only Jake could provide some offense. He and Cam provided 18-19 boards off the bench. Bryan and Knapper played well too off the bench.
There were a lot of contributors today. I thought Oboye and Akametu had some nice cameos as well.
I wouldn’t read too much into this win. TCU looks more disorganized than we do. Tomorrow will be a better test, I think.
Watching the UW/CSU game. I think the maintenance crew gave the rims a few too many cranks. Tight.
Well I know a commentator who is thrilled about that. I think she even kept mentioning him while he was sitting on the bench.
Energy and effort was good and that translated to solid rebounding #'s and winning lose balls. It was also nice to see us go on the run middle of the 2nd half and put away TCU; that is what we failed to do vs. ASU, N Dakota St. and Stanford.
We also did a good job of taking advantage of TCU aggressive D and overplaying on the perimeter by beating them on backdoor cuts. But not the prettiest of games on offense, the Torvik offensive rating was 106 which is just OK and there were still too many empty offensive possessions that ended in poor shot selection or TO’s.
And that’s what makes the Bronco’s 2-4 start so frustrating…this team can play just OK, not get great games from some of it’s better players (Tilly and Bal) and still beat a decent Power Conference team. If this team could play to its potential more consistently they could make waves.
Hopefully we can build on this and continue to improve.
Bronc, well said. It’s pretty apparent that our team that has been together more than a year is struggling with both offensive and defensive scheme’s.
Our lack of a true point guard is a big factor. Carlos is a great athlete but not a guard who can break down defenses and create open looks for others.
TCU broke our defense down many times from their guards but had maybe had their worst shooting night of their season.
Bal and O’Neil were for the most part ineffective except for a few defensive plays. Bal a couple of late threes when it didn’t matter and O’Neil off again 17% from 3 on the season and not much better from two.
Good win but sugar coated by a bad TCU performance. Lots of work to do…
You guys are all right, but I’m going to ignore the potential downfalls and pour another glass of wine for a Bronco win.
These rims are brutal. Lol. Advantage us with our size?
