Transfer Recruiting Thread

No surprise there. I think everyone expected him to return. If not for COVID and subsequent immediate eligibility he would have had to sit out the 2020/21 season so he was expecting to be at GU a min 2yrs anyhow.
Good ball handler, great passer, good size for a guard but just an above avg. athlete (not elite) and needs to improve 3pt shooting.

Didn’t know this was in question. Maybe it wasn’t.

He’s certainly not good enough for the pros in the us right now.

Interesting, I heard rumblings of this, but the ā€˜I’m planning on going pro.’ sounds definitive.

Good news for our Broncos, with Ross and Edwards departing Pepp will be in somewhat of a rebuild mode, they have a large freshmen class coming in including a couple of recruits Sendek pursued and a Bay Area point from Mitty, Mike Mitchell. Pepp has landed a couple of solid vet transfers so maybe that helps bridge the gap until the frosh get up to speed.

At USF, there are also rumors that Bouyea won’t use the extra year and return and Shabazz is considering transferring supposedly to UW (he is from Seattle).

Still lots of movement in the WCC, may be awhile before we have a firm idea of what other rosters will look like.

I don’t understand why they dont do like baseball and hockey and allow drafted players to play in college if they want.

Hockey is particularly great bc you can be drafted, play college, and the team keeps your rights.

A couple of additional transfers from the past week or so not already captured above:

Portland landed 6-8 forward Kristian Sjolund from UTEP (started career at Georgia Tech). Appears to be a 3pt shooting specialist (41% career) but not much else.

Pepperdine landed 6-8 forward Keith Fisher III, most recently from Illinois St., appears he sat out or was injured all of 2020/21. Started career at SJSU. Appears to be a solid get for Pepp…career 10pts, 6rebounds but low % shooter.

Bit of a strange one.

I think they have a plug and play freshman replacement for Suggs from Omaha, plus Nembhard, and whoever carries over from this year. He wants to start, but not in the cards at GU. Roll of the dice, but I’m guessing someone wil pick him up.

I would have thought he was going to be one of those carry overs.

Maybe he got run off. Who knows what happened.

Transfer to Gonzaga

Transfer out from Pacific

Decomitt from Portland

Clearly the only smart move for Haarms. Classless of Pope to try to fight against that. Even by BYU ā€œtie-shirtā€ standards Haarms would be an older player.

Would be silly for a player that clearly has a pro career waiting. Probably should have gone pro from Purdue.

Can’t tell me they aren’t cheating.

You don’t get people that were previously committed to Kentucky without it.

Few reminds me of a rural politician. Claim they’re all about commitment because it’s just such a great little place, but really they’re getting away with stuff they could never get away with under the bright lights.

Let the flames begin. I said what I said.
