Remember the Tritons!
During this intermission between game 1 and game 2 of today’s WCC matchups, I decided to catch some of this UCSD-UCD game. The Tritons play a disciplined game. If they don’t win the Big West tourney, will they make it as an at-large? Big West does a double-bye for 1 and 2 seeds, so they’ll start at the semi-finals just like WCC does.

Take it with a grain of salt, they are rated higher than North Carolina.
I would invite UCSD and UC Irvine immediately to the WCC. I think the downside is minimal, and the upside could be very meaningful.
Only their 5th season at D1 and just became eligible for there tourney.
But w/ zero name recognition nationally I can’t imagine them getting an at-large. When it comes down to it and they’re considering 8 to 10 teams for the final 4 slots, the power conf and recognizable mid-majors w/ some history of success are going to get the benefit of the doubt over the Tritons.
Agreed. And it will probably be moot. UCSD only needs to win 2 games to win the Big West tourney.
