25-26 Bracketology

Yes, from what I was able to decipher, the ratings are based on a combination of (1) correctly identifying the field of 68; and (2) correctly determining the seedings.

Delphi updated their bracket, which they hadn’t done since before SLU lost yesterday. They moved Miami-OH into their play-in round, taking the at-large spot that VCU vacated when they moved into an auto-bid. They have us as a #10 seed playing Kentucky in St. Louis (same as they did before).

I would be thrilled with Kentucky in St. Louis.

If we’re a 10 we’ll probably get Utah St becusse that’s what the committee loves doing!

Maybe I’m getting greedy trying to angle for a preferred opponent but would love to get a UCLA matchup instead of Kentucky. The Bruins best player, Bilodeau (sp?) went down w/ a knees issue in the quarterfinal game and didn’t play vs. Purdue yesterday. He’s supposedly going to be available for the tourney but seems questionable, knee injuries don’t heal in a week.

Lunardi swapping Missouri with us for Dayton when literally nothing changed between our teams is that classic ESPN SEC bias. Ugh.

I wonder if Lunardi even realizes he did that. That page still has the contradictory table at the bottom showing us as 2nd to last bye. And he hasn’t tweeted his updated predictions. Amateur!

Plus UCLA’s coach is an incessant whiner. Would love to see our Broncos “embarrass” him.

I’m seeing a palpable convergence toward similar brackets amongst the big names. I’m guessing that there are some leaks to the big name outlets (like Lunardi, who is employed by the biggest and most important sports network in the world).

Just refreshed on Lunardi’s and he has now in fact updated the table at the bottom to show us as “last 4 in”, with Missouri taking our bye. No explanation accompanying it. As they say in the valley: what…ever!

That would be unfortunate.

Don’t you think CBS would be the most likely to get the heads up given they’re broadcasting the selection? They moved us to a bye.

I certainly hope so1

UCF is one spot ahead of SCU in the WAB and is a 10 seed.

And Mizzou just got a 10…ugh!

It’s down to SCU, Miami-OH, and SLU, I think. Assuming SMU is the last team in.

I think SMU and Miami-OH as the last Dayton entries. SCU and SLU as 10s. NC State going to Dayton is helpful for Santa Clara.
