Unfortunately, in a post-game summary, TNT’s Adam Lefkoe described him as the “second year player from St. Mary’s.” I wanted to puke.
Exactly!!
I was half-listening at the time and kind of did a double-take. I was waiting in vain for someone to correct him.
On the bright side the in game commentators did mention Santa Clara during the actual game.
Podz looks to have really clicked. Several 20+ point games over the past few weeks. He was the youngest Warrior after Curry to get 7 threes in a game, and then did the same thing the following game, sinking 8 threes. Plus, he rebounds and dishes with relatively few TOs.
Jalen is an All-Star in the literal and figurative sense. No surprise there.
Jalen is eligible for the Max Extension this year and should get 250 to 300 million over 5 years. With Podz recent play, his next deal in a year or two should be quite large as well. With where NBA salaries are headed, they should easily clear 500 million combined and probably closer to 1 billion by the time their careers are over. Good work if you can get it.
