@LucasLandon- Only reason I can think is that the refs just let it go because they didn’t want something like that to decide the game/season. If the SLU players were more savvy (and it’s unfair to expect them to be) they could have inbounded the ball and purposely collided with the kid who ran on the court. I think the refs would be forced to call a T if it actually interfered with a live ball, Stanford Band style.
The ND snub has been in the back of mind during this whole process. Hopefully the Broncos don’t get dissed like the Irish. I’ll be doubly pissed if if it’s an SEC team.
Ole Miss looked dead, but is now heading to OT against Ark.
FFS Ole Miss, why won’t you just die? ![]()
This remains true… but an extra SEC team I cannot abide.
After doing some research… I am really hoping for..
No Dayton.
Then to get picky… No Buffalo (by FAR the hardest to get to), no Greenville). Tampa is far but at least has direct flights.
Cmon and gimme St. Louis…![]()
Greenville strikes me as the hardest to get to but that’s without digging in… and Buffalo I would have figured for a SFO direct flight.
But I interface with the East Coast hardly at all.
If we are a 10, and the Gaels a 7, it seems STL may be the spot.
Greenville is a flight to Charlotte and a 2.5 hour drive. But lots of options to Charlotte. Flight to Buffalo you can go through Chicago.
Same, I never leave the West Coast
.
I’m good with some BBQ and St. Louis.
I’ve seen several projections that had SCU vs either Kentucky or Miami as a 10 vs. 7. Im hopeful. Not sure how impacted we’ll be by the St. Louis loss. Utah State is trying to give me a heart attack as well.
Someone knows our fate.
Hopefully the Committee looks more at the overall metrics than head to head if they’re comparing SCU vs SLU.
Tomorrow are we rooting for VCU & USF?
Definitely. Cleanest if they win.
Conventional wisdom is that both VCU & USF are out (or at least below SCU) with a loss so I’m 98% sure those games won’t matter to us. But if we want to get to 100% certainty then I agree it’s safer for us of either or both of those teams win.
With the current state of the Mountain West, GU moves from a 3 bid league to the remnants of a 1 bid league. Unless the Aztecs manage to sneak in. Nice move, Zags!
Irrelevant to Santa Clara, but I’m watching Duke vs. UVA. I want to root against Duke because they’re Duke, but the presence of both Malik Thomas and Jacari White on UVA complicates matters. While last year’s SCU team had more shortcomings than OT losses to NDSU and USF, those two players had pivotal roles in perhaps the most painful games last season for Santa Clara.
They seem to be the tormented memories of another era. Good Lord, those games were so brutal. On a related note, most of today’s games have been incredibly intense and exciting.
Okay we will know our fate soon. Let’s do a poll.
Where do our Broncos land in the bracket today?
- 9 Seed or Better
- 10 Seed
- 11 Seed (bye)
- 11 Seed (Dayton)
- 12-16 Seed
- We’re Snubbed
@LucasLandon having us in Dayton gives me cause for concern. ![]()

I hear the Coaches are thinking 10 seed….
